How hybrid moving calculator Works

Two hybrid models

Container: the company drops 16-ft containers, you load, they drive and store — transparent pricing, flexible timing, storage built in. Truck + loaders: you rent and drive the truck; hired loaders handle both ends — the cheapest per-mile option with professional-grade packing. Each wins a distance band: containers past ~500 miles, trucks under it.

Why hybrid saves 40–60%

Full-service cost is mostly labor plus overhead; the hybrid models substitute your packing labor (containers) or your driving (trucks) for the expensive parts while keeping the genuinely skilled work (loading craft, loaders) professional. The savings are real but purchased with your weekend — the calculator prices both sides.

The loader line item

Hired loaders ($45–60/hr, two-person minimums) are the best conversion in moving: $200–400 converts the injury-risk labor into supervision. Book through labor marketplaces or the truck rental's partner services; read the minimum-hours fine print and book both ends in one call.
